4-10 Matsushima 981-0213, Matsushima-machi
If you see the Date Masamunekan, you will pass through the large gate and turn left. There is a Matsushima fish market.
I am satisfied with the course, but if I don't act in the morning, Shiogama will close after noon.
There are several local restaurants with grilled oysters, about 2,000 yen, forty-five minutes
It was the best with fresh ingredients.
Of course, I came here for meals. I asked if I was happy if I could leave it.
I visited on a trip at the end of September, so I don't know if it was affected by a typhoon. Listen directly by phone.
I think that it is better to confirm by phone
Yes, we have it! Enter from Date Masamune History Museum and become the other side‼
Great place to eat eat the freshest tuna. Maguro sushi 8 pieces for 1080Â¥. Most generous servings.
Just amazing experience, the quality of the food is amazing, I suggest this place 100%
I love the oysters and scallops in big sizes and freshly served
Matsushima is famous for their fresh fish. And the Matsushima Fish Market is the easiest place to enjoy it. The first floor offered overwhelming fish options, some of which were local. We thought the 3 Tuna Rice Bowl for 1290¥ and Special Tuna Bowl for 1500¥ looked good. We placed our orders on the first floor and headed up to the second floor to their dining area to enjoy our spoils. The freshness was evident from the first bite: clean, smooth, and light tastes, with no fishiness. The medium-fatty tuna was particularly exceptional. My only disappointment was the rice was just a bit dry and could’ve used a bit of sushi vinegar to really tie it all together. Still, a very delicious bowl of fish worth the price.
Small, but with very fresh and delicious seafoods
Nice Market
Very good. 45min Eat as much as you can
The food was good here, however I was expecting a full on Tsukiji like market with open venders. Come for fried oysters (3 for 500 yen) but I would go to Higashi-Shiogama to the wholesale market for that open Tsukiji vender feel.
Oyster burger and fried oysters tasted really amazing
Fun day trip.
Delicious
Great fish market. Food court on the 2nd floor is the place to visit if you are around. You can get the fresh fresh sea food dishes for the half or one third of what you would pay in Tokyo or any other bigger coty in Japan.
Touristy place. 2-3 main stores selling sashimi bowls, fried seafood, soups etc. Nevertheless, seafood is fresh and portions are fairly generous.
Tasty! It’s a good choice to tea a set not to choose all you can eat.
Good stop for foods and omiyagi. The way they package your gift is amazing and thoughful.
Pretty Fly market had a nice set lunch of oysters and scallops and a little asahi to wash it all down. There's a few places to eat and always a lot of people. Pretty chilled place to have oysters. I like that you can flex oysters in Japan but they actually cost nothing. Sometimes life is about these little moments...
Very small. There are sea food restaurants. Various sea creatures but hard to find fresh fish :)
The market is small... There are actually only 3 restaurants inside the market, and one oyster house outside the market. I ordered eel lunchbox, the eel is fine but rice is too sticky and not tasty. We didn't eat oyster because of Norovirus is spreading recently, maybe I will like it better if I had oyster..
Has delicious fresh grilled oyster, scallops and squid.
Large variety of seafood of good quality. I also tried some oysters and they are pretty good.
Loved the oysters. A must try!
Fresh, reasonable price, need to buy at first floor then go up 2nd floor for your seat and free tea (self service) then the seller will come up and deliver your ordered
Full of flavors, fish, colors and variety. Incredible
Fresh shellfish tanks but don't expect fish on ice. A little touristy but good food and service. Great mix of local town feel with popular sightseeing spot. Use machine to order on the first floor. Menu can be shown in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Give ticket to counter to recieve token. Go up on second floor to sit. They will come out with food for token.
A lot of fresh seafood
Good food
Sashimi were fresh and need to wait for your order over 20mins. Not worth to try the grill oyster as they are very tiny and not tasty
Lovely indoor fish market with lots of local produce
I ordered a bowl of seafood donburi priced JPY2500. I think it was quite reasonably priced for a medium sized bowl of rice topped with slices of fresh tuna, almost a handful of uni, some ikura and fresh scallop. The seafood are very fresh, the rice and soup (extra JPY250) also nice and warm. I went there at about 2pm so the market was not crowded and I was able to eat peacefully.
Excellent lunch spot with lower prices than most restaurants. The oyster burgers are a steal. You can also get fish products to go.Ordering sushi is a bit confusing. Order at the register downstairs and pay. Get a number and take a seat on the second floor. You'll see a person with a cart calling out numbers. Listen for your number or show them your number if you can't understand. Soy sauce is in white bottles on the table. Clear your dishes when you're done.
Small market, not too many choices.
I came a little late in the day and the oyster burger stall was closed as far as I could tell. Instead I got three of the largest oysters I have ever eaten, broiled over charcoal. They went down fabulously with a pint of beer.
Very small fish market, delicious dishes
You can buy sea foods and servenia here. Also you can have Oyster , sea foods.
You can find many delicious seafoods here. This place will satisfy the seafood lovers.
The food was awesome..loved the tuna
Quite small and didn't find any good food

Seafood and food count
The food is overrated. The price also just ok. Don’t expect too much. If you have a rush schedule, please take this place you.
Its not a big fish market as expected... But it got nice gifts from local area...it get crowed after 10 a.m...better to visit early and enjoy the atmosphere with less crowd... Great food with budget....awesome oysters... Parking available for free.... P
Fresh seafood and assorted food choices
Various seafood, reasonable price, fresh and delicious.
One of the greatest fish markets for steamed oysters from Matsushima Bay. People are friendly and accommodating. Very easy access from the station on foot. Affordable prices too.
Very good place to buy sea food raw and cooked. Fair price, tasty and fresh. Raw oysters was delicious.
